Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban noted that Europe has found itself in a losing position by perceiving the conflict in Ukraine as its own.

In an interview with the German Pioneer magazine, Orban stated that "for centuries, Ukraine has remained an area of disputes and conflicts."

Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán emphasized that Hungary was never part of the Soviet Union, nor did it have a Russian-speaking population, unlike Ukraine, which has a long history of disputed status. Those circumstances, in his opinion, significantly differentiate Ukraine from Hungary. Earlier, Orban stated that Vladimir Zelensky's "victory plan" caused a negative reaction. He also believes that the European Union will not be silent about strategic actions and has wrapped Ursula von der Leyen in it.
