North Korea has completely cut off road and rail links with South Korea in the east and west of the Korean peninsula, as part of its policy of territorial separation with its southern neighbor. This was reported by the Korean Central Telegraph Agency.

According to his information, the General Staff of the Korean People's Army has taken measures to physically cut off vehicle and railway communication with South Korea.

On October 15, 60-meter-long road blocks were blown up in the village of Kamkho in the east of the country and in the village of Tone in the west of Kanwondo province. The Central Telegraph Agency reported that this decision was taken in accordance with the requirements of the constitution and the military-political "situation that reaches the brink of war" on the Korean peninsula due to the provocations of "enemy forces". The Ministry of Land and Environmental Protection confirmed that the blasting of the roads did not have a negative impact on the environment. The authorities noted that transport communications were "fundamentally disrupted" as a result of the explosion.
