Antibiotics cause death

Almost 40 million people could die by 2050 due to the spread of antibiotic resistance, according to the British newspaper The Guardian.

"Each year, approximately 1 million people die due to the spread of antibiotic resistance in bacteria, and this rate will increase over the next 25 years.

This is terrifying," the publication quoted former UK Chief Medical Officer Sally Davis as saying.

The paper explains that by 2050, the death rate from bacterial resistance will double, with a total of 40 million deaths.

The reason is the widespread use of antibiotics, including in the food industry, as a result of which more and more bacteria mutate and develop resistance to antibiotics.
