Measles cases in Armenia have decreased, but there is no need to relax the vigilance

In recent months, the epidemic situation caused by measles in Armenia is quite stable. Only 3 cases were recorded during the month of October.

Svetlana Grigoryan, head of the Department of Epidemiology of Immunoprevention and Controlled Infectious Diseases of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the RA Ministry of Health, said this in a conversation with "Armenpress", noting that all 3 cases recorded during the month of October are positive and are not epidemiologically related to the cases registered in Armenia. :

That is, the person traveled or had a guest, as a result of which he was infected with measles.

"I must say that Armenia, having improved the epidemic situation, has already left the top ten European countries with the highest epidemic rates caused by measles in 2023.

However, the implemented measures should be continuous, so that we do not have a revival of the situation due to recent incidents," said the specialist.
