Edmon Marukyan, chairman of Lusavore Armenia party, on Facebookwrote on his page:
"Until now, the authorities claimed that the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group is possible only after the signing of the peace treaty, and this approach was perceived as a clear and firm position of Armenia.
However, today the press secretary of the Prime Minister, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, announced that Armenia is ready to discuss the dissolution of the structure without signing a peace treaty, without any international guarantees or clear agreements. The authorities are trying to convince the public that the conflict no longer exists, which justifies the uselessness of the Minsk Group.
However, that argument is an illusion and strongly contradicts reality. If there really is no conflict, why are the Azerbaijani armed forces in the sovereign territory of Armenia? Why are the people of Nagorno-Karabakh deprived of the right to return to their homeland?
By giving up an important diplomatic tool that has served to protect our interests for years, we are weakening Armenia's position and giving Azerbaijan new leverage to exert pressure. Thus, the Armenian negotiation fund is deprived of content and exhausted.
Our last diplomatic playing cards are being unilaterally conceded to the enemy, again for nothing and as a result of hastily changing the previously justified position. I strongly condemn and hope that the citizens of Armenia and the political forces will draw appropriate conclusions from this."
