Iran has called on young people to hold protests near the country's power plants

Iran's Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Ali Reza Rahimi, called on the population of the Islamic Republic to participate in the mass protests to be held on April 7 near the power plants across the country, which were threatened to be attacked by US President Donald Trump.

Rahimi said he believed "young people, athletes, artists, students and university professors" could join the protests. In a video broadcast on Iran's state television, he explained that "the purpose of the protests is to convey to the international community the unacceptability of attacks on civilian infrastructure, which is a war crime."

The deputy minister also emphasized "the importance of public solidarity among Iranians at this time, regardless of their political views."
