Joint military exercises of the CSTO countries have started in Kazakhstan, reports say local the media.
1.5 thousand servicemen of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan are working on quick response operations to threats in the mountainous terrain. Armenia does not participate in military exercises.
During the exercise, the servicemen hone the joint preparation and coordination of the headquarters and armies of the four countries.
"The exercise is held every year and is aimed at increasing the level of joint operations and strengthening the readiness of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces to perform joint tasks," the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan noted.
The gatherings will be held on September 13-18 under the leadership of Colonel Makhsut Huseynov, Commander of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan. More than 300 units of weapons, military and special equipment are involved in them, including 115 drones.
In addition, the military trains with border guards and the National Guard in mountain and desert conditions.
