Eighty-seven people were injured and 177,400 households were left without electricity in Taiwan due to Typhoon Bavi, the Central News Agency of Taiwan (CNA) reported, citing local authorities.
"Typhoon Bavi hit Taiwan on Saturday, leaving 87 people injured, 14,476 residents evacuated and 177,485 households without electricity," the agency reported.
Earlier, the agency reported that more than 30 people were injured in Taiwan due to the approach of typhoon Bavi, and about 27,000 households were left without electricity.
