"Past" newspaper writes: "In recent months, dissatisfaction with the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) has been growing all over the republic, specifically regarding the periodic interruptions in electricity supply. This is worth noting on the eve of winter. Subscribers ask: if it is like this now, what situation can be expected in winter?
According to our data, in just the last month, there have been at least 7-8 power outages in different neighborhoods. But the problem is not just the outages: as is known, these are either so-called 'planned' or 'emergency' outages.
In the case of planned outages, there is a clear time frame, but citizens complain that the scheduled electricity reconnection is repeatedly delayed by an hour or so beyond the planned time, multiple times. As a result, planned outages that were supposed to last 4-5 hours sometimes reach 9-10 hours (in some cases even up to 14-15 hours).
The emergency outages present an outright disgraceful situation. Numerous citizens who contacted us noted that after hours of power outage, a kind of 'power flickering' process begins. What is this about? The fact is that shortly after the restoration of electricity supply, the power goes out again. Then again: connection, disconnection, and so on, several times. This means that electricity is being reconnected without fully or properly fixing the fault.
As a result, people's electrical appliances stop functioning. People file complaints but achieve no results. According to our information, soon several lawyers will step forward with an initiative to support citizens to help the affected individuals obtain compensation from ENA through legal procedures."
