Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs, stated that the document published by the US government confirms that the United Arab Emirates played an active role in military operations against Iran.
On his X social network page, Gharibabadi noted that the US Commerce Department's decision to ease export restrictions for the UAE is an "official recognition" of Abu Dhabi's support for America's military operations.
According to him, that document imposes "direct international legal responsibility" on the UAE.
"The UAE should be held accountable," the Iranian diplomat said.
Earlier, the US Department of Commerce announced the elevation of the UAE's status in the export control system. The decision exempts Emirates from both categories of restrictions, allowing them to obtain license-free access to a number of controlled goods, including certain military technology, satellite equipment and dual-use items.
Tehran also announced that the latest information indicates a much more active participation of the UAE in the American-Israeli operations against Iran than was previously assumed. According to the Iranian side, the Emirati forces attacked the country's territory from the very first days of the conflict.
