The new college admission procedure has been launched and accordingly the admission process has started from 9 am today. A press conference was held in the press center of "Armenpress" news agency, dedicated to the new order of college admissions. The speakers of the press conference were Deputy Minister of Education and Culture Araksya Svajyan and Director of the National Center of Educational Technologies Artak Poghosyan.
A simple application process has been introduced. As part of the work aimed at the digitization of processes related to education, this year a change was made in the admission procedures of professional educational institutions, introducing new possibilities to ensure the accuracy of data. Applicants' data and necessary documents will be downloaded automatically, freeing them from the need to collect them from departments. the approximate indicators of previous years have been preserved.
Admission rates are improving year by year, registering more than 10% increase in college admission results every year," Araxia Svajyan said.
About the allocated places For this year, 6,064 places were allocated for secondary professional educational programs, 3,312 places for vocational educational programs and 800 places within the framework of the programs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Education with secondary professional educational programs will be carried out in 107 specialties, 15 of which are in priority direction with a high scholarship. Education in the vocational education program will be organized in 38 specialties, 21 of which are priority fields with a high scholarship. About the application process, according to KTAK director Artak Poghosyan, the application takes place according to the same system as in the case of first grades and high schools.
"There is a single page, my.emis.am, where parents can create their own personal account. From one account, a parent can have access to different tools and perform their actions in that account. Today, from 9 o'clock, the VET institutions registration subsystem was opened, and parents, having entered it, can register their children in a preferred educational institution. After the summary of the competition, they will receive an answer on the same page," said Artak Poghosyan, assuring that no technical or software problems were recorded. As of the first half of the day, 500 applications have already been submitted, which is almost double compared to previous years.
When applying through the system, parents can see how many free and paid places the state has allocated for a given profession, how many applications are already available for a given profession. Admission to colleges is competitive, and the deadlines for applying are clearly defined in the order. there is no limit to the acceptance of applications. Deadlines The acceptance of applications opened from today for non-sector professions will be open until August 10, and for sector professions / medicine, culture and sports/, whose admission is also organized through exams, until July 24.
"During this period, parents, as well as citizens themselves in the case of adults, can submit their application any day, any time. The summary of applications will take place only after the end of the application period, as a result of studying the data of all applicants. Therefore, there is no problem here to panic and to organize the actions very quickly, but the set deadlines must be observed," Araxia Svajyan said.
The application system is flexible, and the applicant can cancel it at any time before the deadline and register a new application. one of them is the ability to follow and monitor the education of our citizens and especially children. As you know, secondary education is compulsory in our country, and after finishing primary school, children have to decide where to continue their education - high school or colleges. And this is a tool for us, with which we will be able to quickly identify those children who will be left out of compulsory education. By default, all children of school age who are not enrolled in either high school or college in September will be considered dropouts. In this situation, together with our partners, appropriate steps will be organized so that these children are identified and directed to the educational system," commented the Deputy Minister of Education and Culture. According to Artak Poghosyan, the director of KTAK, digitization also ensures maximum transparency, providing the applicants with vacant places and the opportunities provided by educational institutions. All documents related to education are also digitized, which makes it possible to identify the learner.
Digitization also makes visible the possibilities of using different types of government programs, thus guiding the learner in applying to the desired institution. The process will be continuous. What is the reason for the increase in interest in VET institutions, Araxia Svajyan reminded, the Government recognized some sectors as priority: industry, agriculture, construction. A scholarship in the amount of AMD 50,000 is offered to graduates studying in this direction. In the first year, all students receive a scholarship, then after summarizing the results of the first year, the scholarship is kept according to progress. According to Araxia Svajyan, the list of majors taught in colleges is regularly revised, because there are majors that are outdated and are not needed by the economy and the labor market. There are also professions whose demand is growing year by year, for example, the professions of solar energy devices, drip irrigation system service providers.
According to him, the consistent policy of the state is also an important incentive in order to prevent the risks of being left out of compulsory education, as a result of which the students receive education in a compulsory institution.
The third most important factor is increasing the attractiveness of professional education in terms of quality. "A lot of work is being done here with the private sector, because cooperation with employers in this area is very important. Every year, we have a larger number of educational programs, which are implemented with work-based training programs, in cooperation with employers, which makes professional education more interesting and attractive for our young people." Araxia Svajyan also emphasized the role of the professional orientation group introduced in the 8th grade by the state standard of general education, within the framework of which schoolchildren gain knowledge about the required professions.
In addition, regarding high school admissions, Araxia Svajyan reminded that high school admissions will be conducted in electronic format again this year, in order to ensure transparency and simplify the process for parents, through the https://my.emis.am/ platform. "I hope that as we successfully started the college admission process today, we will also be able to carry out the high school admission process smoothly and without interruption," concluded the Deputy Minister of Education and Culture.
