The 23rd Yerevan "Golden Apricot" International Film Festival has crossed the finish line. The closing ceremony of the festival was held yesterday at Kino House, the jury announced the names of the award winners.
• In the international feature film competition, the main prize of the festival, "Golden Apricot", was awarded to the film "The Currents" by Melagros Momentaler. "Silver Apricot" received Morteza Ahmadvand and Firouze Khosrovan's "Past: Aparni: "Past, Future, Continuous" film, and Sebastian Brameshuber's "London" film received a special mention from the international jury.
• In the regional competition, the "Golden Apricot" was awarded to the film "Inside Amir" by Amir Azizi, and the "Silver Apricot" to the film "Dry Leaf" by Alexandre Koberidze. "The Dry Leaf" also won the FIPRESCI Award, which is awarded by the International Federation of Cinematographers.
• In the "Coriz" competition dedicated to short films, the "Golden Apricot" was awarded to the film "Dialogues Solitaire" by Seruj Hovsepyan. The latter was also awarded the special award named after Gennady Melkonyan. Ovsanna Gevorgyan's film "Paid Mourners" was awarded "Silver Apricot" in the category.
• The jury also awarded special mentions to the films "Relic" by Sona Khachatryan and "Together Alone" by Artur Sahakyan. In addition, Tereza Nvotova's film "The Father" was also awarded the prize for dissemination in Armenia and Georgia, which includes financial support of 6,000 euros to ensure the regional distribution of the film. The festival concluded with the premiere of Godfrey Rejo's film "Zhukov-time".
