US President Donald Trump has proposed renaming the Strait of Hormuz Trump Strait.


"I think we should call the Strait of Hormuz Trump Strait. That's what it's going to be called, ladies and gentlemen. I'll make an announcement," Trump said at the Republican National Convention in Dallas, ahead of the November midterm elections.


The US president also expressed confidence that oil prices will fall after the US wins the war with Iran. Trump reiterated his claim that the United States controls the Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant part of the world's oil supplies pass.
