The OSCE is losing its prestige in the eyes of the Georgian society because of the declaration it adopted, which criticizes Georgia. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced this to journalists.
"Of course, because of such documents, unfortunately, the confidence of the Georgian society is weakening not only in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, but also in the entire OSCE, which is a great pain. We see that the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly has descended to the level of US Congressman Joe Wilson.
This is a very tragic phenomenon. Of course, we will draw appropriate conclusions from it," Kobakhidze said. The OSCE PA adopted a declaration on Georgia. The document included a resolution drafted by US Congressman Joe Wilson, which, among other things, states that Georgia's 2024 parliamentary elections and 2025 local government elections were allegedly flawed and did not reflect the will of the people. Furthermore, the document again criticizes Georgia for alleged democratic problems and restrictions on freedom of assembly. The Georgian delegation left the meeting hall in protest before the vote.
