A few days ago, we reported that the State University named after Valery Brusov posted the master's degree admission announcement for the 2026-2027 academic year on its website and social media page on June 18. It is written in the announcement that "applications for free places are accepted from June 5 to June 20."
In other words, before the announcement was published, Brusov University actually accepted applications for the competition for free places a long time ago, and published the announcement just two days before the deadline.
"Past" has sent a letter to the Ministry of Education and Culture related to this topic. We received a long answer from the Committee of Higher Education and Science, where the admission procedure for the master's degree is presented in detail, the relevant normative acts are cited, etc., but the answer to our main question is not given: why did Brusov University publish the announcement 13 days after the start of accepting applications and two days before the deadline?
By the way, let's note that we received the answer on June 29, and on the same day Brusov University posted a statement on its official pages that "V. The State University named after Brusov extends the deadline for receiving applications for admission to the master's program with free tuition for the 2026-2027 academic year until July 7 of this year inclusive.
Although before that, on June 23, the day after we sent the request to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, they issued a statement with the following contents. "V. Brusov State University in 2026 from June 5 to June 20, inclusive, organized and carried out the process of accepting applications for master's degree admission for places with full tuition reimbursement (free) in the form of a student allowance by the RA government.
During the specified period, V. 151 applications were submitted to Brusov State University (38 more than last year). The competition is conducted on the basis of the applicants' average quality assessment (AQA), ensuring equal and transparent competitive conditions.
We do not consider the extent to which our publication, inquiry, the university's announcement and the extension of the deadline were related to each other. The important thing is that the issue has been resolved. As they say, better late than never.
