US President Donald Trump has stated that the American Apache AH-64 helicopter that crashed off the coast of Oman was shot down by Iran, and the United States must respond.

As the US Central Command (CENTCOM) previously informed "RIA Novosti", the helicopter crashed off the coast of Oman while patrolling the regional waters. Both pilots were rescued within about two hours and are in stable condition.

"Our military has just informed me that last night the Iranians shot down one of our advanced Apache helicopters while it was patrolling the Strait of Hormuz.

Both pilots on board are safe and sound. However, the United States has an absolute responsibility to respond to this attack," Trump wrote on the TruthSocial social network.
