Florian Filippo, the leader of the French "Patriots" party, intends to participate in the 2027 French presidential elections. He announced this on France 2 television.
"Yes, I am a presidential candidate. I confirm that I am in a more advantageous position than in 2021, when I did it very late and my Patriots party was significantly smaller," Filippo said. He noted that in the previous elections, he had difficulties in collecting signatures of the mayor to confirm his participation. he collected only one of the required 500 signatures. This time he hopes to achieve better results and compete for the highest office of the country.
If he wins, he has promised to work for France's exit from the European Union and NATO. The first round of French presidential elections is scheduled for April 2027. The exact date has not yet been decided, but it is expected to be held 20-35 days before the end of the current President Emmanuel Macron's term on May 13, 2027.
If none of the presidential candidates receives more than 50% of the votes in the first round, the two candidates with the most votes will participate in the second round of voting, which will be held two weeks later.
