More than a hundred people detained in central Moscow; some handed summons to military commissariat

In central Moscow, in the Kitay-Gorod area, more than a hundred people were detained during mass police inspections.

According to testimonies from those detained, some were handed summons to present themselves at the military commissariat in police stations, and adults were also offered to sign contracts with the Ministry of Defense, reports the Telegram channel "Осторожно, новости" (Caution, news).

According to the source, detentions began the previous evening. Among those detained are minors. They were transported in special vehicles to the Basmanny and Tagansky police departments. Parents of the minors gathered near the police buildings waiting for the release of their children.

Some of the detainees told journalists that they were handed summons to the military commissariat while at the police stations. One of the young adults reported that adults were also offered to sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense. It is unknown whether any of those detained agreed to this offer.

Several detainees complained about use of force by law enforcement officers. Some claimed to have spent several hours in overcrowded special vehicles.

The inspections at the Moscow Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation were described as "preventive measures" aimed at preventing and addressing violations, including the consumption of alcohol in public places, writes Kommersant.

The department did not specify the total number of detainees.

"Measures will be taken against individuals who violated the law in accordance with the procedure established by law," the press service of the Moscow Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia stated.
