Le Correspondant, citing French journalist Jaffar Ait Audia, reports that, according to medical tests taken in 2023, Algerian Olympic boxing champion Iman Khelif is a man. From the medical report it follows that Khelif has testicles and a “micropenis” absence of the uterus. Also, thanks to the tests, doctors determined that the representative of Algeria had a male karyotype XY, a level of testosterone characteristic of men and a deficiency of alpha-5-reductase type 2 (genetic anomaly). The media notes that medical data was taken from hospitals in Algeria and France. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) approved the participation of Khelif and Lin Yuting (Taiwan) in the women's tournament at the 2024 Games in Paris, despite the fact that the 2023 World Championships (held under the auspices of the IBA) they did not undergo a gender test, which showed the presence of elevated levels of testosterone in their bodies. At the Olympics, Khelif and Lin Yuting won gold medals in the 66 and 57 kg weights, respectively.
