The state of emergency has been extended in Hungary

The Hungarian Parliament, by an overwhelming majority, extended the state of emergency in the country for another half year, until May 18, in connection with the armed conflict in neighboring Ukraine. "TASS" reports about this, during the voting broadcast on the website of the legislative body, 130 out of 199 deputies expressed their support for the relevant bill, and 49 against it.

A state of emergency allows the prime minister and the government to make some decisions on an expedited basis through decrees and regulations, rather than through laws that require debate in parliament.

Presenting the bill to MPs, Deputy Prime Minister Jolt Schemien noted that the conflict in Ukraine is not over, the humanitarian situation there is dire, and it still affects Hungary, which continues to accept Ukrainian refugees and provide economic aid to its neighbors.
