Differences between Ukraine's allies are beneficial to Russian President Vladimir Putin, CNN reports.
"The lack of unity in the West, a certain difference in the views of the West and Kiev regarding the desired goal. As a result of all this, Putin has no reason to reconsider his actions in Ukraine," international relations expert Thomas Graham said in a CNN publication.
Moreover, the conflict is not only between Moscow and Kiev, but between Russia and the West, so the scale of possible negotiations should correspond to this level, the publication says. According to British analyst John Lowe, Russia's actions in Ukraine are a way to reduce US influence in the international arena.
