A policeman was injured during riots in the suburbs of Lyon

Riots took place last night in the suburbs of Lyon, France, particularly in the Rille-la-Pape commune, where one policeman was injured.the prefecture of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region informed about it.

"The riots started around 21:00 local time, when about 20 people threw stones at two buses and then set them on fire. Residents of the nearby houses had to leave their houses due to the danger of the fire spreading," it was stated in the message.

When the policemen arrived at the scene, the violators started throwing various objects at them, as a result of which one of the law enforcement officers received a facial injury.

Later, the district prefecture announced the deployment of special forces to suppress the protests, which will monitor public order over the weekend.

The authorities condemned the incident and announced that they are investigating and searching for the perpetrators.

Similar riots took place on Thursday evening, when several cars and trash cans were burnt. Then they detained three people, all of them minors.
