Russia expressed condolences to Serbia over the tragedy in Novi Sad

Russia expresses condolences to Serbia in connection with the tragedy in Novi Sad, where the collapse of a 50-meter canopy of the railway station killed, according to the latest data, 14 people and injured about 30, said the Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya.

“We want to express Serbia’s condolences in connection with today’s tragic event in the city of Novi Sad,” Nebenzya said during a meeting of the UN Security Council.

The railway station building in Novi Sad dates back to the 1960s and has undergone renovation work in recent years as part of the reconstruction and modernization of the Belgrade-Budapest high-speed railway.
