The engine of the 225-passenger plane caught fire shortly after takeoff

A Turkish Airlines plane made an emergency landing in India due to engine problems.

It is reported that the incident took place on February 4, Wednesday. The right engine of the plane traveling on the Nepal-Istanbul route caught fire after a one-time flight.

The flight commander reported the incident to the air traffic controllers in Calcutta and decided to change the route. About 10 minutes later, the plane landed at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bosa International Airport.

Among the passengers were 225 passengers and 11 crew members. After landing, all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated from the plane.

Experts are investigating the cause of engine failure.
