Minister of Defense of Belarus Viktor Khrenin met with Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Imangali Tasmagambetov. The head of the Belarusian Defense Department presented the CSTO Secretary General with the military and political situation prevailing in the Collective Security Region, and also expressed the position of the Belarusian side regarding the agenda of the upcoming joint session of the Foreign Affairs Council.
The parties discussed the main directions of cooperation, as well as possible areas of further cooperation. Speaking about CSTO activities in the near future, Khrenin noted that the main attention of the Belarusian side will be focused on the preparation and holding of joint exercises in the format of the organization in the territory of Belarus in September 2025.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness for further cooperation aimed at the development of the military component of the organization.
