A new anti-aircraft defense system, "Steel Dome", will be created in Turkey. This statement was made by the country's president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reminding about the Israeli "Iron Dome" air defense system.
As reported by the local media, Erdogan gave a speech at the ceremony of handing over the T625 Gökbey helicopter to the gendarmerie and noted that from the point of view of ensuring its own security, Turkey understands much better the vital importance of air defense systems.
"We must strengthen multi-tiered air defense systems to neutralize many disparate threats, from terrorist infiltration to attacks by hostile elements. If they (Israel) have an Iron Dome, we will have a Steel Dome. We will create a "Steel Dome", we will also increase the missile potential of long-range operation", said the Turkish President.
