Macron reminded Netanyahu that Israel was created by the UN decision. Parisian:

French President Emmanuel Macron said at a closed session of the Council of Ministers that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should remember the circumstances of the establishment of the Jewish state, which emerged on the basis of the UN resolution. This was reported by Le Parisien newspaper, referring to sources.

"Prime Minister of Israel Netanyahu should not forget that his country was created by the UN decision, so he should not challenge the organization's decisions," Macron's words were quoted by the newspaper.

Terk noted that the president made this statement in the context of Israeli operations against the Lebanese Hezbollah movement (which are carried out at the locations of UN Interim Forces positions in Lebanon) and calling the Israeli ambassador to the French Foreign Ministry for attacking peacekeepers.

After Netanyahu's phone conversation with Macron, the Israeli Prime Minister's office issued a statement entitled "Reminder to the French President". It states that "the State of Israel was not created as a result of a UN resolution, but in the struggle for independence, at the cost of the blood of fighters, many of whom survived the Holocaust or escaped the Vichy collaborationist regime in France."
