The US has not ruled out a military conflict with China over Taiwan

A direct military conflict between the US and China over Taiwan has become a major geopolitical risk in the world, such a development cannot be ruled out. Bloomberg writes about this.

"According to defense analysts, the clash between the US and China over Taiwan has once again become one of the world's biggest geopolitical risks... Chinese and US troops may clash over Taiwan," the article says.

The agency accompanied the article about US and Chinese troops with a corresponding map showing that the closest US military bases from the PRC are in Okinawa, "about 400 miles from Taipei."

In addition, the agency recalls the words of an anonymous Chinese diplomat who said in 2017 that an American warship in Taiwan could "be the basis of an attack".

According to Bloomberg, Taiwan has "thrived under American protection," becoming an important supplier of semiconductors and other high-tech products. It is this factor that prevails in the dispute over the influence on the island, the article notes.
