Azerbaijan and Iran discussed the construction of the railway through the territory of Iran to Nakhichevan. Rovshan Rustamov, the president of "Azerbaijani Railways" CJSC, wrote about this in his X microblog. He announced that he and his Iranian colleague Jabbar Ali Zakeri Sardrudi discussed the creation of a direct land connection from the Autonomous Republic of Nakhichevan to Artsakh through the territory of Iran.
"We also discussed the issues of strengthening cooperation along the North-South corridor and talked about the steps taken by Azerbaijan Railways in the direction of the development of the two routes, as well as our future plans," Rustamov wrote.
