New details emerge about man sentenced to life in prison for Domodedovo attack



Islam Yandiyev, convicted in the 2011 terrorist attack at Moscow's Domodedovo airport, has received more than 30 disciplinary sanctions for violating detention procedures while in pre-trial detention, according to court documents available to RIA Novosti.
Yandiyev was sentenced to life in prison. According to investigators, the leader of the Caucasus Emirate criminal organization, Doku Umarov, organized the attack. The attack killed 37 people and injured 172.

Yandiyev has filed a number of lawsuits, including a demand to cancel the sentence imposed on him in 2012 in the form of a 10-day ban on detention.
According to the documents, while in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center, Yandiev received more than 20 disciplinary penalties, and after being transferred to another pre-trial detention center, another 11.
The court rejected Yandiev’s claim to cancel the fine.
