A resident of Orenburg tried to sell his son for 1.5 million rubles

A resident of Orenburg tried to sell his son for 1.5 million rubles. The Regional Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation announced this on its Telegram channel.

The child was born in 2023. According to the investigators, the man had financial difficulties and did not want to raise the boy. At the beginning of December, he appeared in the territory of the hotel complex, where he offered a stranger to buy a child. As a result, he managed to reach an agreement with one of the local residents.

"The accused handed over his son to a local resident, in exchange for which he received the money assigned by him, after which he was detained by the employees of the criminal investigation department of the Orenburgskoye municipal department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia," the department's statement said.

During the interrogation, the man admitted his guilt. The investigation of the criminal case has been completed, the materials have been transferred to the Lenin District Court. The accused faces up to 15 years in prison.
