The new president of Georgia has signed the law prohibiting the wearing of masks during rallies

On December 29, the day of his inauguration, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili signed the law that prohibits wearing masks during protests and using lasers. The document was published on the portal of the Georgian Legislative Bulletin.

According to amendments to the Law "On Assemblies and Demonstrations", which the Parliament of Georgia approved on December 13, "covering the face with a mask or other means" is prohibited.

Pyrotechnics and lasers are also included in the list of prohibited items. After the official publication, the law entered into force.

The "Legislative Bulletin" portal also published more than 10 other laws, which were adopted by the newly convened Parliament of Georgia after the parliamentary elections held on October 26.
