The Polish government will pass a law to suspend the granting of asylum to migrants

Poland's Cabinet of Ministers will adopt a law on Wednesday that will allow suspending the granting of asylum to illegal migrants, the Prime Minister of the Republic, Donald Tusk, announced.

Earlier, at the instigation of Tusk, the Polish government adopted a new migration strategy, which envisages the possibility of suspending the acceptance of asylum applications for foreigners in case of a threat of destabilization due to the flow of migrants.

"We are regaining control over Poland's borders. Today, the government will adopt new rules on visas and asylum requests. The right to asylum will no longer be used to cross the Polish border illegally," Tusk wrote on the X platform.

At the same time, he expressed hope that Polish President Andrzej Duda will sign this law, even though he is in opposition with the "Law and Justice" party, which he represents.
