The Iranian Foreign Ministry has warned the Republic of Korea of serious consequences if Seoul decides to send military forces to the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said.
He noted that relations between the Republic of Korea and Iran have a history of more than 64 years and are based on mutual respect. "Iran attaches importance to friendly relations with the Republic of Korea," Baghaei wrote.
"However, in a situation where the Iranian people are repelling American aggression and are resolutely responding to the war crimes committed by the United States against Iranian women and children, the military presence or participation of other states in the Persian Gulf or the Strait of Hormuz cannot but be considered direct support for aggression. This will have serious consequences," he noted.
"Responsible and sovereign states should not succumb to American pressure and blackmail and participate in criminal plans and aggression against the great nation of Iran," the Iranian diplomat added.
