The “Hraparak” newspaper writes:
Defense Minister Suren Papikyan wrote on his Facebook page that the first level self-assessment process of the Operational Capability Concept (OCC) was conducted in the peacekeeping forces brigade of the RA Ministry of Defense according to NATO standards. Papikyan is trying to present that the Armenian army is on the way to achieving NATO standards.
However, according to our information, the Armenian army is currently only approaching the standards of the NATO army in matters of non-priority importance. For example, the military has been instructed to “give a salute” from now on, to salute without a military cap, as is customary in the NATO army, after removing the cap.
Previously, they used to give a military salute by bringing their hand close to their cap, now they must remove their cap and bring their hand close to their head. Our source said that the military clearly does not like these meaningless changes.
