A total of 270 MPs voted in favor of the relevant document, No.1208-2, at a parliament´s meeting on October 2, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

The bill provides for the establishment of the Bureau of Financial Investigations as the central executive authority, the activities of which will be directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers through the finance minister.

The Bureau of Financial Investigations will carry out independent investigative activities; ensure physical protection by the national police.

The adoption of this bill will contribute to more effective activities of law enforcement agencies in forming and using financial resources of the state and its economic security, which then will reduce shadow business in Ukraine and increase the amount of transferred taxes and fees, improve the structure of law enforcement agencies, as well as the material and technical base.
