Ukrainian border guards of the Sumy border detachment have detained a citizen of Moldova wanted by Interpol at the Bachivsk checkpoint, Ukraine's State Border Guard Service has reported.
"During the border control of citizens traveling to Russia on a BMW car with Russian license plates, border guards found and detained a citizen of Moldova. The foreigner was in Interpol's international database. Law enforcement officers established that according to the accounts of the General Secretariat of Interpol, the foreigner was placed on the international wanted list for the purpose of arrest and further extradition to the Republic of Moldova for criminal prosecution over intentional bodily harm, hooliganism, violation of traffic rules or use of vehicles," the report reads.

It notes that a 38-year-old man was handed over to National Police officers for further transfer to Moldovan law enforcement agencies.

According to the report, border guards at Boryspil International Airport detained a foreigner who was placed on the international wanted list. A Georgian citizen was on a flight to Tbilisi and during control measures, officers of the State Border Guard Service found that the person was wanted for serious bodily harm in accordance with the Interpol database.

Border guards reported the detention of the man to the Interpol National Central Bureau in Kyiv and handed him over to National Police officers.
