The USA does not think that the permission to hit targets in Russia will deepen the escalation. State Department

The United States State Department reported that the US permission for Ukraine to hit Russian territory with American weapons will not deepen the level of escalation in the war. Matthew Miller, the representative of the State Department, said this during a briefing. Asked whether Washington does not think that it will deepen the escalation with its permission, the representative of the department answered: We will continue to take appropriate measures in response to President (Vladimir) Putin's actions to allow Ukraine to defend itself. But let's note again that Russia is the aggressor here," Miller said. He noted that Russia deploys its military equipment near the border and uses it to attack civilian objects, so the US believes that Ukraine should will have the opportunity to defend himself. "It is Vladimir Putin who constantly heats up this conflict again and again, including with these latest actions. And we think that this (permitting Ukraine to use American weapons) is an adequate response," said the representative of the State Department.
Let us remind you that last week, Ukraine confirmed that it received a limited permission to attack targets located on the territory of Russia with American weapons. The White House noted that the US permission extends not only to Kharkiv, but also to the border regions of Sumy regions. At the same time, the authorization does not extend to ATACMS long-range missiles.
