200 British companies have switched to a four-day work regime

More than 200 companies in Great Britain have passed a four-day work regime without loss of employees' salaries, The Independent reports. About 5,000 people have been working in the mentioned companies.

These are commercial organizations, technology companies, as well as various areas of enterprises, including design, machine building and production, accounting and banking. Proponents of the four-day working week claim that the five-day work schedule is an outdated approach, which was more convenient for the previous economic era. According to the four-day schedule, it can improve the quality of life, maintaining or even increasing productivity.

"The four-day work regime, which gives 50% of more free time, allows people to live a happier and full life. The experience of hundreds of British companies has shown that this schedule can be profitable for both employees and employers, "said Joe Riley, the head of the 4 Day Week Foundation campaign.
