The European Union does not believe that its relations with the United States will ever return to the level before entering the White House of Donald Trump, European Commission President Ursula El der Layen said in Rome.

"We are not naive and we do not think that our relations with the United States will return to the previous level," said Von der Lion. He added that the EU is still negotiating with the full cancellation of commercial customs duties with the United States, but has not expressed optimism.
He stressed that 80% of EU trade is "not with the United States" and now the EU is now promoting these relations, trying to strengthen them as soon as possible, making free trade agreements with different countries of the world.
