"Zhoghovurd" daily writes: "The criminal case initiated against Mher Sedrakyan, former deputy of the National Assembly, former head of the Erebuni administrative region, known to the public as "Tokhmakhi Mher", which has been under investigation in the court for about five years, is again in progress. ArmLur.am learned that the investigation of the case was suspended, because in 2024, by the court's decision, a judicial structural and technical examination was appointed. Now the conclusion of the expert examination has already been received, after which the court reopened the examination of the case.
Let us remind you that the criminal case is under the proceedings of the General Jurisdiction Court of Yerevan from January 13, 2021. After a trial lasting four years, at the court session on October 31, 2024, the court decided to appoint a forensic technical examination, as a result of which the investigation of the case was actually suspended until the conclusion was obtained. At that time, a question arose as to why the court is appointing an additional examination in a criminal case that has been under investigation for years and what circumstances it is trying to clarify or confirm through it. Now that the expert report has been presented to the court, the investigation of the case has resumed.
According to the indictment, Mher Sedrakyan, having held the position of head of Erebuni community in Yerevan in 1999-2008, "due to selfish and other personal interests, during 2004, with the help of community council members, abused his official powers, used his official position against the interests of the service and Erebuni community, as a result of which significant damage was caused to the rights and legal interests of the community, which inadvertently caused serious consequences."
It is noteworthy that the name of Mher Sedrakyan's family recently appeared in the context of another scandalous story. As we have already reported, the ruling "Civil Contract" party received 36 headquarters premises for free use in Yerevan alone during the pre-election campaign of the parliamentary elections, which were mainly provided from May 1 to June 15. In other words, he "donated" office spaces without rent.
In return for what service, perhaps it is understandable, because the son of Mher Sedrakyan, Davit Sedrakyan, is a big businessman, has construction businesses and maintains brilliant relations with the government of the day. Let us inform you that the pre-election headquarters of the CP in the Erebuni administrative district operated at 76/4 Davit St. in Sasuntsi, and Artak Gevorgyan gave it to the party with the right to use it free of charge.
It is noteworthy that Artak Gevorgyan's brother, Artur Gevorgyan, is involved in a number of companies owned by Mher Sedrakyan and his son. In particular, 19 percent of the Sedrakyans' "Dragsman" concrete production company is registered under the name of Artak Gevorgyan. He was also previously a shareholder in the "Best Friends" company owned by Mher Sedrakyan's son, which is engaged in the production of perlite powder, dry mortars and plastic pipes. Let's also remember that in 2024, the prosecutor's office included the shares of these two companies as allegedly illegally-sourced property within the framework of the confiscation proceedings related to Mher Sedrakyan and his family. But for years this case has not been moved."
