Answering the question of how Yerevan envisions the EAEU rules and transit regulations in case of TRIPP implementation, Safaryan answered: "At the moment, the Republic of Armenia is a member of the EAEU, and EAEU transit rules apply in our territory." That is, will TRIPP be based on EAEU regulations?
"Yes," he said. It turns out that the project named after US President Trump was included in Putin's EAEU plans, something for which the Russian side fought for almost a year, warning the Armenian authorities that TRIPP cannot work, because the transit rules in Armenia must obey the EAEU rules, and our authorities persistently ignored these warnings. In the political backstage yesterday, this statement became a reason for heated discussions, according to some, the Russian sanctions have impoverished our authorities so much that the Foreign Ministry official did not want to further aggravate the Armenian-Russian relations, but created a danger of an Armenian-American conflict.
That the actions of the Russian side are disturbing the RA authorities became clear from one more fact: the official Kremlin reported that Pashinyan-Mishusti had a telephone conversation at the initiative of the Armenian side, they discussed "issues on the agenda of Armenia-RF interaction, which refer to the trade-economic, scientific-technological and cultural-humanitarian spheres."
