Denmark's Queen Margrethe II, who abdicated in January 2024, has been discharged from hospital following a heart attack and surgery, the Royal Palace's press service announced.

"Her Majesty Queen Margrethe has been discharged from the Royal National Hospital today and will return to Fredensborg Castle," the statement said. The Queen has been ordered to rest, so her pantomime performance scheduled for May 23 is cancelled, the press service explains.
