Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and other countries have asked the United States to delay strikes on Iran for two to three days, believing a deal is close. US President Donald Trump announced this during a meeting with journalists at the White House.
"Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE and several other countries have asked me if we can delay the strikes on Iran for two or three days, for a short period of time, because they think we are very close to an agreement. And if we can achieve that, if Iran does not get nuclear weapons, if they are satisfied, I think we will probably be satisfied as well," the American leader said.
He added that the US informed Israel and several other countries of the Middle East about the decision to postpone the strikes on Iran. "We will see if it will lead to something," said the head of the White House.
