Brussels is concerned about the continued rule of the "Georgian Dream" party in Georgia in the context of the country's possible European integration, despite the fact that the EU does not have an official "doctrine" regarding the impossibility of such a scenario under this ruling party, stated Tomasz Zdechovski, a member of the European Parliament.
In early April, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili announced that Georgia's EU accession process was suspended in Brussels, not in Tbilisi, and that the ruling "Georgian Dream" never suspended the European integration process. Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze noted that Georgia is interested in full EU membership, despite the challenges within the EU. "The EU does not have any official "teaching" that would say that Georgia's integration is impossible as long as the "Georgian Dream" is in power.
However, in practice, there is really a very serious and growing concern in Brussels in this direction," said Zdehovski, a member of the European Parliament, to "Izvestia".
