"Journalist of "Zhoghovurd" daily asked a question to the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, on the subject of officials who did not serve in the army and their relatives. "Zhoghovurd" has been publishing for about 15 years about officials who did not serve in the army and their privileged sons, and the journalist drew the attention of the Prime Minister to two more cases. The first concerns Armen Nikoghosyan, who previously worked as a sports journalist in the newspaper headed by the prime minister, and now holds the position of vice president of the Football Federation of Armenia.
The journalist mentioned that there were publications in the press that Nikoghosyan's son and nephew were exempted from mandatory military service. According to the publications, the son was discharged from the army on the basis of being a football player, regarding which the newspaper sent a request to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, but did not receive an answer due to the reason of preserving personal data. The journalist asked the Prime Minister to assist him in finding out on what grounds Edgar Armeni Nikoghosyan was dismissed from the army, as well as why he is not called to training camps.
The second question was about Narek Grigoryan. The journalist noted that according to "Hetk" publication, the current deputy was released from the army on the basis of self-harm. Let us remind you that this deputy is known as a "fisherman", because before becoming a deputy, he was engaged in fishing in Noratus, including during prohibited times, which the press has written about for years.
The journalist appealed to the Prime Minister, asking him to intervene in his own way, so that the competent authorities clarify the mentioned circumstances, because data is not provided to the media, referring to the requirements for the protection of personal data.
The Prime Minister replied that the questions raised by the journalist were raised on a public platform, and law enforcement agencies can consider them in accordance with the law."
