"Hraparak" newspaper writes:
"The other day, a scandalous incident was recorded in the Artik prison." Listening devices, "juchoks", were found in the control room. The supervisors handed them over to the person on duty for the day, Vardan Baloyan, demanding to report this to Artak Ghazaryan, head of the Criminal Investigation Department.
According to rumors, they were installed by operatives, one of whom is currently on vacation. And it is possible to enter the penitentiary during vacation only with the permission of the head of the operative department.
The devices were actually installed to eavesdrop on what the guards were saying, who they were talking to, etc. This raised a wave of indignation among the supervisors, they demanded that the culprits be punished. We were told that an official investigation has begun, according to the current law, wiretapping is only allowed by court order, so the supervisors are waiting for the operators who violated the law to be held accountable. The prosecutor's office was also informed about the incident.
