"Zhoghovurd" daily writes:
"The General Prosecutor's Office is not able to take Vardan Harutyunyan, the former chairman of the SRC, into custody. "Zhoghovurd" daily learned that the Anti-Corruption Appellate Court rejected the appeal of the General Prosecutor's Office. "Zhoghovurd" daily wrote that Vardan Harutyunyan, the former chairman of the SRC, who was under house arrest, was released on bail of 300 million drams.
Administrative control and the ban on absenteeism were chosen as a preventive measure against the latter. The prosecutor's office appealed this decision, but the appellant left the decision unchanged and, in fact, rejected the prosecutor's office. Let's remind that Vardan Harutyunyan was detained on August 8, 2025, after the arrest of Samvel Karapetyan, the chairman of the board of "Tashir" companies, and in October, the detention was extended for a month.
On November 7, it became known that he was transferred home from prison and is under house arrest. As a result, he was released from house arrest. Vardan Harutyunyan is accused of illegal participation in business activities, anti-competitive activities and money laundering, while an investigation into the circumstances underlying the accusation was already conducted seven years ago and was denied. In particular, the criminal case refers to the "Norfolk Consulting" company, but in 2018, an investigation was conducted in the criminal case related to this company, and the proceedings were terminated.
Vardan Harutyunyan's defense team announced that the complaint addressed to the European Court of Human Rights regarding the apparently disproportionate and illegal use of detention has already been processed and will be submitted to the European Court in the next few days.
