NATO countries will discuss security in the Arctic next week

Defense ministers of NATO countries will discuss security measures for Greenland at a meeting in Brussels next week, due to US President Donald Trump's interest in the possibility of annexing the island to the United States. This was announced by John Healy, the Minister of Defense of the United Kingdom.

"Trump has given us a difficult task. We show him that NATO is already working on its solution. I expect that more extensive discussions will be held at the NATO defense ministers' meeting in Brussels next week," he said in an interview with Reuters.

According to Healy, the Arctic Sentry operation can show Trump that NATO is already strengthening Greenland's security measures.
