Kellogg told why he left the Trump administration

Former US President Donald Trump's former special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, has announced that he has left the administration in order to speak more freely about the Ukrainian conflict.

"I wanted to spend more time outside the government, where I could express myself much more openly and freely on the topic of Ukraine than when I was inside the government," Kellogg said in an interview with the Kyiv Independent.

Anna Kelly, deputy press secretary of the White House, told the newspaper that Kellogg's removal was planned in advance.

In January 2025, Kellogg was appointed special representative for Russia and Ukraine, but Trump later limited his powers, leaving him only the representative for Ukraine. Earlier, the media reported that he will leave his post in the Trump administration by the end of 2025.
